Hi everyone,

We’re proud to announce the release of our first full-length album, “Laugh, It’s a Fright”.  After recording our “November” EP in eight days, we took a little more time with this one - we recorded, mixed, and mastered it in about 5 weeks.  At this rate, if we are still a band when we are 50, we will have recorded roughly 300 albums.  Almost all of the songs on this were written/conceived by Alex in one 3-day stretch back in December (they always said December is the most creative month.  Right? Or was that March…), and so the album is very cohesive.  It’s designed to be listened to from start to finish, and not broken apart and rearranged.

We think you’ll like it.  It’s a bit different than the EP, but it’s still us.  We played the same instruments, and we even added some horns here and there.  And we recorded drums with more than two microphones!  We’re getting so fancy.  We stayed out of the studio again, though.  The album was mostly recorded in a dorm room.  Next to my hamster’s cage.  Her name is Margot.

The album will be released on March 17th, but you can pre-order the album right now.  I mean it, right now.  And anyone who pre-orders it will receive a personalized haiku. Really.  And if you want we can autograph it.  Since we’re such big celebrities.  We will be shipping these out ourselves, so each CD will be personally caressed into its case by a member of The Chairs.  Such a treat.  The album is $10, and you can rest assured in that every cent you contribute will go directly to the future of The Chairs, instead of being gobbled up by greedy music executives.  So we can spend it all, buying funny hats and Christmas tree ornaments.  And hamster food.  But actually it will go into the band fund for future album-making and touring.  And we could actually buy some merchandise if we get enough money.  Wouldn’t you like to own an official Chairs leotard??

Speaking of touring, here are our tour dates again in case you missed them the first time:

March 21  Omaha, Nebraska  The Foundry.
March 22  Columbia, Missouri  Cherry Street Artisan
March 23  Kansas City, Missouri  Davey’s Uptown
March 24  Ames, Iowa  Ames Progressive
March 25  East Moline, Illinois MixTapes
March 26  Viterbo University  La Crosse, Wisconsin
March 27  Elbo Room  Chicago, Illinois

Come out to the shows and you will be our favorite fan.  If more than one of you come out, then we’ll have to rank you somehow in order of preference, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.

Anyways, thanks for reading, and go to our website at www.thechairsband.com to order the album now!

Love,

The Chairs
