A quick update of two new things —
Item 1 —- Our new album, Nine Ways, has effectively sold out of the physical copies (unless there’s a huge crazy demand for them sometime for some reason). But you can still obtain a digital copy, at our Bandcamp site, which is now a pay-what-you-want price.
Item 2 —- !!! For the first time, our limited edition tour poster is available for sale online. These are high quality, very cool posters that can now be hanging on your wall for a very reasonable price. Go here to find out more.
That’s all for now. Join with us in wishing winter a (hopefully) fond farewell. Although let’s get real, we know it will show its face again come April/May.

Hello everyone,
We’ve had a restful month off, after our two-week tour in December, but now we’re ready to get going again. We have a show in Madison next Friday, January 29th, at the Project Lodge, one of our favorite places to play. Hope to see you there.

The ever-amazing Ryan Brinkerhoff, the same artist who created our Forward Fest poster, has made a poster for our upcoming tour. Each poster is silk-screened, 18x24, and they will be available at our shows for purchase.
The poster was just featured on a pretty big design blog, FPO - go here to read about it.
Go here to check out more of Ryan’s stuff, who knows, maybe you too can have a design made by the same legend who made the Chairs poster.

December 11 - New York City, NY
December 12 - Brooklyn, NY
December 13 - Cambridge, MA

“Nine Ways is not only a great second album for The Chairs, but easily one of the best albums this year.”

Dear friends and enemies,
We are very excited to announce the upcoming release of a new album, Nine Ways. It will be released on November 17th, but if you pre-order the deluxe, limited edition physical album (it’s a book!), you can listen to it right now.
The album was recorded over this past summer of 2009, and we took a long time on it, longer than we’ve taken on anything before, so we’re pretty proud of it, and we hope you’ll like it.
Go here to read about the album, the packaging, and to pre-order —- http://www.thechairsband.com/ninewaysorder.html
If you go there you can also download “Charlotte Pipe” which is the first ‘single’ from the album.
sincerely,
the chairs

Dear friends and enemies,
Two bits of news:
We have a new EP, which is released today, right now. It is called Can We Be Friends? and it is a collection of our past covers with the addition of a few more. Track listing is:
1. My Guitar (originally by Jump, Little Children)
2. Reservations (Wilco)
3. Motion Picture Soundtrack (Radiohead)
4. Flume (Bon Iver)
5. In the Aeroplane Over the Sea (Neutral Milk Hotel)
You can download the EP right now for free at www.thechairs.bandcamp.com
Secondly, we have a new full-length album, which has been done for a while now but will be released on November 17th. More news on that to come.
Also, here are some shows we have coming up:
Friday, October 9th — Minneapolis, MN
Saturday, October 24th - Milwaukee, WI
Thursday, November 5 - Appleton, WI
Hope all is well,
The Chairs

Alright so we are going to be going out on tour this December. We want to come to you, and play in your living room. Or your favorite club down the street. If you live east of the Mississippi River, anywhere east (we’re going to NYC and back, and will take whatever path appears to us) and would like to help us out with a show, shoot an email to chairsband@gmail.com . Any suggestions for venues, or invitations to play in your attic, any such thing would be helpful. You would become our favorite fan and we would shower you with the kind of love that Danny Tanner showered upon his loving family.

Dear friends, enemies, and the indifferent:
We’re playing Madison today as part of the Forward Music Fest ‘09, which also features far superior bands like Andrew Bird, Low, Margot & the Nuclear So-and-so’s, Atlas Sound, Ra Ra Riot, and many more.
We play the Project Lodge at 5 pm. It will cost $7 at the door.
See you there,
The Chairs
