An update
A quick update of two new things —
Item 1 —- Our new album, Nine Ways, has effectively sold out of the physical copies (unless there’s a huge crazy demand for them sometime for some reason). But you can still obtain a digital copy, at our Bandcamp site, which is now a pay-what-you-want price.
Item 2 —- !!! For the first time, our limited edition tour poster is available...

Tour posters
The ever-amazing Ryan Brinkerhoff, the same artist who created our Forward Fest poster, has made a poster for our upcoming tour. Each poster is silk-screened, 18x24, and they will be available at our shows for purchase.
The poster was just featured on a pretty big design blog, FPO - go here to read about it.
Go here to check out more of Ryan’s stuff, who knows, maybe you too can have a...

Hello everyone,
Almost one year to the day after releasing our first EP, today we release our second-full length album, Nine Ways. Months of hard work have led up to this, and we are proud to share it with you.
The album is available at two main places - our main website, where you can order the physical copy (it’s a book!), and our Bandcamp website, where you can both stream the whole...

“Nine Ways is not only a great second album for The Chairs, but easily one of the best albums this year.”
“The amount of attention spent on matching everything perfectly is simply ridiculous.”

New Album - 11/17/09
Dear friends and enemies, We are very excited to announce the upcoming release of a new album, Nine Ways. It will be released on November 17th, but if you pre-order the deluxe, limited edition physical album (it’s a book!), you can listen to it right now. The album was recorded over this past summer of 2009, and we took a long time on it, longer than we’ve taken on anything before,...

Tour
Alright so we are going to be going out on tour this December. We want to come to you, and play in your living room. Or your favorite club down the street. If you live east of the Mississippi River, anywhere east (we’re going to NYC and back, and will take whatever path appears to us) and would like to help us out with a show, shoot an email to chairsband@gmail.com . Any suggestions for...
Madison tonight
Dear friends, enemies, and the indifferent:
We’re playing Madison today as part of the Forward Music Fest ‘09, which also features far superior bands like Andrew Bird, Low, Margot & the Nuclear So-and-so’s, Atlas Sound, Ra Ra Riot, and many more.
We play the Project Lodge at 5 pm. It will cost $7 at the door.
See you there,
The Chairs

New EP for download
Hello everyone,
So we know there are some people that think “Man, that Chairs album was pretty good, except for that “Horse with Hoof Guns” song, that was terrible. I mean, it’s factually incorrect, for one thing, horses don’t have hoof guns, and never will. Also, songs that end in B major are terrible. Let’s get real here.” To those people, we...

These links were taken down before the release of Laugh, It’s a Fright, but I thought I would make this available again. Here is our November EP, which includes “Dark Clothes”— “Fire and Ice”—“In the Aeroplane Over the Sea”—“Polly”—-and “I Gotta Go”. We released it back in November of 2008.

Another great review
Big thanks to Tom Williams from Radio Exile for this one, check it out, and check out Radio Exile! I follow it, it’s a great site. And I’m not just saying that because they liked our album. Although if they posted a bad review I’d probably tell you to sign them up for spam lists. But luckily this works out for everyone.

Awesome show
We had a great time tonight - we opened for the Girl Talk + Reel Big Fish show here in Appleton. We got a little rushed and we only had time for 5 songs, but I thought they went pretty well. Big thanks to John from RBF playing trumpet with us on Crooked Concubines. Hopefully we can get a video/recording of that up here soon. Girl Talk was amazing. Life was good.

Summer tour
We’re going to start planning a summer tour soon. We want to go to California and back. Does anyone have a nice place we can play at? It’d sure be fun! Golly. Send us a message or something if you know where we can play at along the way. If not, we’ll just go through the streets of Small Town USA, blasting our album through the car windows. Maybe that wouldn’t be so...
They picked the perfect song for this
Big news!
Check out our shows page to see a show we just added - it’s going to be a rolicking good time.
